Name: Jeffrey Boase



Toronto doctoral student Jeffrey Boase has been working with Barry Wellman and James Witte to develop the Internet and community components of "Survey 2001", mounted on the National Geographic website, Fall 2001. In summer 2001, he participated in a NSF-funded "Webshop" at the universities of Maryland and California-Berkeley.

Mr. Boase is the coauthor (with Barry Wellman) of "A Plague of Viruses: Biological, Computer and Marketing." Current Sociology, 2002. He is also the coauthor (with Wenhong Chen and Barry Wellman) of "Using the Internet Around the World" [or "In the Global Village"]. This first-ever international comparison of Internet users and uses will be published in The Internet and Everyday Life, edited by Barry Wellman and Caroline Haythornthwaite.
